Arizona students and educators benefit from the combined companies
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz – March 9, 2020 – Educational Services, Inc. (ESI), announced the acquisition of smartSchoolsPlus for an undisclosed price. Both are Arizona-based companies providing employee staffing solutions for school districts through substitute outsourcing as well as return-to-work programs for retirees. The consolidated experience of these two industry leaders creates an even more effective resource to help address the personnel challenges facing schools.
By merging smartSchoolsPlus smartSubs program with ESI’s SubSource, substitutes will have access to more schools while schools will have the advantages of a wider network of substitute teaching professionals. Likewise, smartSchoolsPlus Phased Retirement program will add to ESI’s RetireRehire to create added benefits. Ultimately, students benefit from having more high-quality educators and staff.
Owners of smartSchoolsPlus, Bill and Sandee McClelland, made the decision to sell the business after 18 years in operation. With their first-hand public education experience, their vision was to create a business that would positively impact education within the State of Arizona. Both ESI and smartSchoolsPlus share a passion for improving education and impacting the lives of students.
The acquisition follows another major milestone as ESI recently marked its 20th anniversary. Started by three educators in a single school district in 1999, ESI has grown to serve over 160 school districts and thousands of employees.
