Encore (formerly RetireRehire) is ESI's workforce solution designed to support government entities, municipalities, and K–12 school systems by allowing individuals to retire from public-sector employment and seamlessly return to work. Through this program, retirees can continue serving in their same role while collecting both their retirement benefits and a salary through ESI.
The loss of experienced professionals due to retirement can create critical workforce gaps, particularly in K–12 environments where institutional knowledge and continuity are essential. This is especially true for hard-to-fill positions such as specialty and behavioral health roles, including school psychologists, counselors, social workers, therapists, and other specialized support staff.
